About UPD

University of Phuong Dong was established pursuant to the Prime Minister’s Decision; it officially commenced operations and held the opening ceremony for its first intake of students. The university launched its first four academic faculties: Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Information Technology, and Foreign Languages.

The university expanded its training programs with the establishment of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering; the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering; and the College Center, gradually building its reputation within the private higher education system.

A period of robust growth in scale and infrastructure: the second campus in Minh Khai was inaugurated (2002); the main campus in Trung Kính–Cầu Giấy began operations (2004); and the academic system transitioned from a year-based to a credit-based model (2005).

Academic programs became well-established with strengthened faculty , expanded infrastructure, and diversified training programs. In 2012, the university was authorized to offer master’s degree programs in Business Administration and Civil Engineering.

Focus on improving training  quality, developing human resources, and modernizing infrastructure. In 2025, the university officially transitioned to a private university model pursuant to the Prime Minister’s Decision, marking a new phase of development after more than 30 years of construction and growth.
